Meet Alessandro Tortis

Alessandro Tortis, B.A., LL.B., DDN., CLA, is a Civil Law Notary, Title Attorney, and Canadian Legal Advisor whose practice focuses on estate planning, cross-border succession matters, trusts, wealth preservation, and the administration of estates involving Canadian and U.S. assets and interests. He advises individuals, families, professionals, and business owners on the legal and practical complexities associated with multi-jurisdictional estate planning, U.S. real estate ownership, incapacity planning, probate avoidance strategies, and the preservation and transfer of family wealth.

Alessandro regularly assists clients in developing coordinated estate plans that address both Canadian and U.S. considerations, with particular attention to minimizing cross-border complications, reducing exposure to unnecessary taxation, and ensuring efficient succession planning across generations. His practice includes advising on wills, mandates, trusts, estate settlements, title matters, and asset protection strategies tailored to the unique needs of each client and family.

Alessandro has been in private practice since 2014 and started his own practice specialized in real estate transaction and domestic estate planning. He then joined an international firm that specializes in providing sophisticated cross-border and domestic tax, estate planning, immigration, and real estate legal services to high net-worth individuals where he worked closely with U.S. and Canadian attorneys and notaries in complex cross border estate planning matters and real estate transactions.

Recognized for his professionalism, attention to detail, and client-focused approach, Alessandro is committed to providing practical, sophisticated, and personalized legal guidance while simplifying complex legal issues into clear and effective solutions.

Outside of his professional practice, Alessandro enjoys spending time with his wife and young children. He is passionate about golf, wine, and travel, and appreciates the opportunity to explore different cultures and experiences with his family.
